Our Edinburgh studio offers professional garden design and landscape design across a diverse portfolio of domestic and commercial projects in Scotland. Established in 1994 our team of Garden Designers and Landscape Architects have developed a reputation for their creative and responsive design approach. Garden Design Process //
1. Consultation // Brief
An opportunity to meet our clients and explore the project space. We discuss your vision and site specific requirements to form a detailed Design Brief. We provide a detailed account of our meeting and information retaining to our Professional Fee structure. Clients are asked to indicate their budget range at this meeting in order to ensure we can produce a feasible design.
2. Survey // Analysis
We conduct topographical site surveys and overlay with detailed analysis to ensure a tailored design response. 3D site models are created to enhance our understanding of level change, with Soil Analysis and Geo-location providing accurate environmental data. We present annotated plans and reference with site images.
3. Sketch Design
An opportunity to explore client brief and site with a variety of design responses. We use a combination of hand-drawings and outline CAD models to present our concept. Mood boards and precedent images compliment the initial presentation, and define our rationale.
4. Detailed Design // render
Having chosen a concept plan and discussed revisions we work towards the production of a final design package. Material selections and detailing are considered in relation to site specific requirements and brief. Our presentation would typically include a Detailed Plan supported by Sections, Perspective Renders and CAD landscape models.
5. Technical Package // Specification
Including Construction Details, Setting Out Plans, Lighting Design and Services plotting. We specify detailed material finishes and application to ensure a finely honed scheme. All hardscape features are modelled to guarantee drawing accuracy and are presented with detailed annotation for site installation. Whilst we advocate the benefits of a design & build service based on efficiency and quality, we are able to provide NBS Specifications and Tender Packages on request.
6. Planting Design // Schedule
Our Design team produce beautiful and contextual planting schemes. We create considered plans and detailed plant specifications for site implementation, using local Scottish nurseries and trusted European growers to source plant material and ensure the successful establishment of our schemes. We specialise in the supply and installation of specimen plants, such as large trees, shrubs and topiary and offer maintenance packages to complement design and installation.
